Here are a few screen-shots that depict crystallography being done on Mac OS X:

two monitors are more fun than one

This shows a dual monitor setup, with from left to right, cns_edit (using the Chimera Cocoa-Native web browser interface), some terminal windows in the background, the CCP4i tk-based (X-windows) GUI, and the native OSX version of PyMol.

This is an older screenshot of CCP4's ipdisp program used to display a diffraction image.  It is an X-windows-based display program.  The OroborOSX X-windows manager is being used to make the X-windows more functional and nicer to look at, giving them an aqua-like appearance and functionality.  Full functionality requires either a 3 button mouse or use of control and option keys with the one-button mouse.

This is another older screenshot showing O running as an OS X native application, along with X-windows versions of pymol, CCP4i and cns_edit using X-windows mozilla.
