Background

Scott was born and raised in Washington State until he moved to Japan to attend high school overseas in a language emersion program where he made many lifelong friends. After returning to the states, he enlisted in the Nuclear Propulsion Program in the U.S. Navy, serving for 4 years. Scott lived for a time in Maryland and South Carolina before moving to California to work as a baker making bagels and cakes. He then applied and was accepted to UC Santa Cruz starting in 2005. He lives with his wife, Lena, and son, Aiden in Sunnyvale

Other Interests

Scott enjoys many Japanese martial arts including Karate, Kendo and Iaido, as well as ping pong, rifle and pistol marksmanship, pool, snooker, fencing, badminton, and recently raquetball. He also enjoys reading, playing the piano, writing music, playing the "googly monster" with his son, and video games.
